How to Get to Cádiz from Seville: Quick, Easy & Super Convenient

Seville is one of the most convenient starting points. Getting to Cádiz from here is simple and stress-free.

🚘 By Car

  • Travel time: 1h 15 – 1h 25
  • Route: AP-4 motorway (no tolls, straight and easy).
  • Tip: In summer and long weekends, avoid peak hours — this road gets busy.

🚆 By Train (the most comfortable option)

  • Duration: 1h 15 – 1h 35
  • Departure: Seville Santa Justa
  • Why it’s great: No parking stress (parking in Cádiz is basically an extreme sport 😅).
The Cádiz train station is right in the city centre, with buses and taxis available to reach your hotel easily.

🚌 By Bus

  • Duration: 1h 45 – 2h
  • A good budget option if you’re staying near Seville’s Plaza de Armas.
The Cádiz bus station is next to the train station, so you’ll have the same convenience upon arrival.

Jerez Airport is essentially Cádiz’s airport, with domestic flights and some European connections.

🚆 From Jerez City

  • Train: 35–50 min
  • Car: 25–30 min via AP-4

Jerez and Cádiz are very close, so both options are easy and reliable.

Ho- w to Get to Cádiz from Málaga: Several Routes… and One of Them Is Stunning

Málaga Airport is one of the busiest in Spain, so many international travellers start their trip there before continuing to Cádiz.

🚘 By Car (the most popular option)

  • Travel time: 2h 45 – 3h
You can choose between three routes, depending on your travel style:

1) Coastal Route (A-7 + A-381)

  • Amazing Mediterranean views.
  • Plenty of service areas to stop and rest.
  • Once in Algeciras, switch to the Los Barrios – Jerez motorway for a faster route into Cádiz.

Local tip:
If you’re travelling in summer and want to explore Tarifa, Bolonia, Barbate or Los Caños de Meca, continue along the coastal road through the province of Cádiz. It’s slower, but the views and small beach towns are worth it.

2) Inland Route (A-357)

  • Less traffic and a relaxed drive.
  • Perfect if you want to visit Ronda, Setenil de las Bodegas, Grazalema, or the Caminito del Rey along the way.

3) Fastest Route with Tolls (AP-7 + A-7 + A-381)

  • The quickest option.
  • Tolls increase during Easter and summer — around €20 if you take all of them.
  • The rest of the year, expect roughly €12 total.

🚆 By Train

There is no direct train from Málaga to Cádiz.
You’ll need to connect in Seville:

Málaga → Seville (AVE high-speed train) → Cádiz

  • Total travel time: 3h 20 – 4h

🚌 By Bus

  • Duration: 4h – 4h 30
  • Not the fastest option, but direct.

Alternative tip:
BlaBlaCar is very popular in Spain and offers many Málaga–Cádiz rides at good prices. With this App you can share your car trip with more people and split the bill with them.

🚄 How to Get to Cádiz from Madrid: Fast, Comfortable & Very Simple

Madrid has excellent connections to Cádiz, making it one of the easiest long-distance routes.

🚆 By Train (the best option)

  • Train type: Alvia
  • Duration: 4h 10 – 4h 30
  • Departure: Madrid Atocha
Grab a coffee, open a good book… and before you know it, you’re crossing the famous Carranza Bridge into Cádiz.

🚘 By Car

  • Duration: 6h – 6h 30
Great if you want to enjoy a road trip through Andalucía or Extremadura.

✈️ By Plane
